Skylar Spence remixes A Sunny Day in Glasgow

March 7, 2016 12:08 pm

Check out Skylar Spence’s latest remix as he takes on A Sunny Day In Glasgow’s “I Can’t Live Without Your Love.” The track is streaming now via Stereogum.

Ryan DeRobertis, aka Skylar Spence, on the track: “Planning Weed Like It’s Acid/Life is Loss was one of my favorite 2015 releases, so naturally I jumped at the opportunity to remix my favorite track off the 2xEP, ‘I Can’t Live Without Your Love.’ When I made the remix I was a week away from the start of a tour supporting Madeon, and I was having a lot of anxiety over that, which ended up translating into some cool creative power. I was listening to a lot of chicago house at the time and playing a great playstation game called Hot Shots Golf, and I tried to blend those two very different worlds together for the remix.”

Prince Rama’s “Xtreme Now” out today!

March 4, 2016 10:31 am

“…the new songs take on a more powerful, confident, fierce, infectious, all-encompassing, and accessible dance-club feeling than any other Prince Rama record – a fearless, visionary pop tour de force for the ghost-modern era that celebrates the ephemerality of life, dancing just at the edge of death’s gilded smile.”

Xtreme Now if officially out today! You can pick up your copy in the Carpark shop, iTunes, or in a record store near you. The album is also streaming via Spotify and Apple Music. Stop by select retail stores and receive a limited edition Xtreme Now temporary tattoos, while supplies last.

To celebrate the announcement, TEEN has shared a live performance video of “Please,” taken from a SoFar Sounds show in Brooklyn last fall. TEEN is currently on tour in support of its brand new album, Love Yes. Brooklyn Vegan writes “‘Please’ is one of the more understated, celestial songs on TEEN‘s terrific new album Love Yes. The band recently recorded a live session in NYC for Sofar Sounds, which puts on intimate, paired-down shows all over country. With only synth and violin backing, you can really focus on TEEN’s otherworldly harmonies.” Watch the video here.

Young Magic announces new album + shares first single

March 3, 2016 10:53 am

More big news! Young Magic has also announced the release of their new full-length record, Still Life, out May 13th, 2016. You can stream their first single, “Lucien,” via Stereogum. Pre-orders are now available on the Carpark shop and iTunes, which will include an instant download of “Lucien.”

“Still Life inhabits a gorgeous, kaleidoscopic world, as delicate and intricate, as it is expansive and immersive. It walks the line between organic and mechanic, where dusty field recordings weave between warm Moogs and Prophets, where jazz breaks bump next to broken drum machines. It’s meticulously crafted outsider pop, made by obsessives, for obsessives.”
