RIP Prince Rama. “Rage In Peace” out now

SHARE

It’s a bittersweet day. Prince Rama has released new (and old) music, but sadly it is the last of its kind. After 10 years as a band, Prince Rama have decided it is time to say goodbye, and in epic fashion, by ritualistically burning all the band’s belongings and putting the ashes into their limited-edition 7″, Rage In Peace.

One night when I was feeling rather despondent I decided to sit down and have a long talk with the spirit of Prince Rama and asked how it wanted to die. The answer was clear; It would die with gusto! With enthusiasm! With joy! It wouldn’t just rest in peace… it would RRRRage!!

As an added bonus, their first three albums, Threshold Dances, Zetland, and Architecture of Utopia are now available for the first time digitally everywhere. While we hate to say goodbye, we wish Nimai nothing but peace and love in her journey outside of music, and are very excited to see what Taraka does beyond the Prince Rama moniker.

See Taraka this October at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, and read her full statement here.
