Without further ado…
If you could record a song/album with any musician in history, who would it be?
Robert Smith and Lil Wayne. I’d write a song for them to record together and just step out of the room.
How would you describe your music in three words?
Hopeful, Loving, Fun
Where do you hope music will take you in the future?
Strengthening my community, bringing some small amount of joy and inspiration to other people’s lives.
What themes do you keep returning to on your latest album/track?
Searching for a higher power, coming up empty handed, but ending up in the right direction.
Tell us about the first song you ever wrote…
My parents had a pet bird named Scooter. I wrote a song about him when I was very little.
What’s always in your bag?
External hard drives
Who are some of your early artistic/musical inspirations?
Watching MTV and burning R.E.M. CDs that I checked out from the library. When I was even younger my mom showed me how to use her record player. Paul and Linda McCartney’s Ram and The Beach Boys.
Describe your dream location to record an album:
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Just time travel and open up a MacBook with Logic in 600 B.C.
Who is the first person you share new music with?
When I was a young idiot, literally anyone who would listen. These days it’s only whoever is directly involved.
What do you have on repeat right now?
The Rapture “House of Jealous Lovers”… also Fat Tony’s new unreleased record. I just directed two videos for it. It’s his best music yet.
